The Iranian news channel "Amarion" which is affiliated with the security services of the Revolutionary Guards reported today that, "against the background of the assassination of two aviation experts by the Revolutionary Guards in the cities of Khomein in central Iran and the Saman province, the Revolutionary Guards have opened an investigation into the recent assassinations."
The channel added, according to its sources, that the Revolutionary Guards had warned of the dire consequences of the recent assassinations in the country, and that the security chief of Iranian Revolutionary Guards, General Ali Nasiri, had been arrested on espionage charges, and that two "senior security officials" had fled the country.
The Iranian did not detail the entity or country for which General Nasiri, who is one of the most prominent senior commanders in the Revolutionary Guards, spied for.
