The Arad rifle has quickly become a key weapon in both combat and defense of Israeli settlements, thanks to its precision, lightweight design, and reliable performance.
Since the October 7th attacks, Border Police fighters like A. have been on high alert, defending communities and saving lives. The conflict highlighted the need for upgraded combat equipment, leading to rapid distribution of lighter bulletproof vests, night vision optics, replenished ammunition, and advanced weaponry, including the Arad rifle.
For A., who has served in the Border Police (Magav) for years, the unit is like a second home. The surge in volunteers after October 7th led to new combat teams and extensive training programs. “We were surprised by the overwhelming response and the motivation of new recruits. The upgraded gear has allowed us to respond more effectively to the threats we have faced since that day,” he explains.
Magav is a special multi-role police force that supports both the Israel Police and the IDF in securing the nation’s borders, particularly in high-risk areas like Judea and Samaria, Gaza’s periphery, and other volatile zones. Elite units such as Yamam and Yamas receive rigorous training to handle complex combat situations.
