Iranian official Alaeddin Boroujerdi slammed President Trump’s “zero enrichment” demands as worthless, insisting Iran’s nuclear program is an inalienable right and hinting at uranium enrichment up to 90%, while drawing the line only at developing a nuclear bomb.
Alaeddin Boroujerdi, member of the Iranian Majles National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, called President Donald Trump’s “zero enrichment” expectations “worthless” during a July 1, 2025 appearance on IRINN TV (Iran).
He said that Iran has paid a heavy price for its nuclear program, its scientists were killed, and its nuclear sites were attacked.
He emphasized that Iran will no longer accept external terms. Boroujerdi stated that uranium enrichment is Iran’s “inalienable” right and suggested that the country might need uranium enriched to 90% for use in ocean-faring ships.
He concluded: “The only red line is a nuclear bomb.”
