NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte has voiced public support for US President Donald Trump’s policy toward Iran, stressing the importance of dismantling both Tehran’s nuclear program and its ballistic missile capabilities.
In an interview with CBS, Rutte said NATO is still reviewing Israel’s claim that Iran possesses missiles capable of striking major European capitals such as Paris, Berlin, and Rome.
While he noted that the alliance cannot yet confirm this assessment, he emphasized that the claim is being taken seriously and remains under active evaluation.
Rutte added that if Israel’s assessment proves accurate, it would further underscore the urgency of neutralizing Iran’s missile infrastructure alongside its nuclear ambitions. He warned that the combination of nuclear capability and advanced missile systems would pose a direct threat not only to Israel, but also to Europe and broader global stability.
