Rare, never-before-seen footage, released by the US National Archives, shows the powerful moment when US soldiers liberated thousands of Jews from a Nazi death train.

Tanks 12 and 13 of the US Army's 743rd Tank Battalion, along with a scouting jeep, freed thousands of victims en route from Bergen-Belsen concentration camp to Theresienstadt ghetto and transit camp.
