Explosions ⁠were heard ​in the Syrian capital of ​Damascus on ​Tuesday near a hotel where French President Emmanuel Macron was reported to be staying, according to a security source. Macron is the first major EU leader to visit Damascus since the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Roads ​were sealed ‌off and security measures were implemented after ‌the blast.
