Police are investigating after gunfire struck two synagogues in the Greater Toronto Area early Saturday, marking the third such attack in the region this week. No one was injured.
These attacks began on March 2nd, just before 11 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El synagogue, in North York.
Families had just finished celebrating Purim there when gunfire struck the synagogue with the rabbi was still inside the building.
The following incidents targeted Shaarei Shomayim in North York and Beth Avraham Yosef of Toronto in Vaughan. Officers said multiple shots were fired at both buildings while people were inside. Police are reviewing surveillance footage and evidence to identify the suspects and said it is unclear if the attacks are connected.
