Abu Dhabi will build an advanced cruise ship terminal in the port of Aqaba near Eilat

The Abu Dhabi Ports Group, which is considered a leading company in the field of trade and logistics, signed an initial agreement last week with the Aqaba Development Company to build an advanced cruise ship terminal in Marsa Zayed, Jordan. In the event of the final signing of the project, it will be the first facility of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group in Jordan and its first cruise ship terminal outside the UAE.

According to a statement issued by the group, the terminal at the port of Aqaba will be developed so that it will serve as the main entrance gate for receiving passengers on cruise ships that will visit the Red Sea area. The new terminal is expected to encourage the tourism sector in Jordan, especially in Aqaba, so that it can create additional employment opportunities for Aqaba residents in the tourism, trade, and leisure fields.

This is a preliminary agreement, and it is not certain that it will be implemented, but if so, the question arises whether it is not worthwhile to interest our allies from the Emirates in such a project in Eilat….
