A group of Spanish women from the organization Leviot entered Madrid’s Thyssen Museum on Sunday, one of Spain’s leading cultural institutions, and displayed photos of victims of the October 7 massacre.

The protest was directed at an exhibition about Gaza being presented at the museum in cooperation with UNRWA. The women said the exhibit completely ignores the massacre that started the war and presents Gaza without the context of Hamas’ invasion, murder, rape, kidnapping and destruction.

Their message was simple: Any cultural display about Gaza that erases October 7 is not art, education or human rights. It is propaganda.
