A source linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reports that Iran is demanding the extradition of Reza Pahlavi and other Iranians living abroad as a new condition for negotiations with the United States.
According to the report, Iranian media affiliated with the IRGC described the individuals as “anti-revolutionary elements” whom Tehran seeks to prosecute. The move is seen as a significant hardening of Iran’s position and could further complicate any attempt to renew diplomatic engagement with Washington.
NEWSRAEL: WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
This demand signals a sharp escalation in Iran’s negotiating posture, shifting from nuclear and sanctions issues into highly sensitive political territory. Targeting opposition figures abroad—especially a prominent figure like Reza Pahlavi—introduces a major obstacle that the US is unlikely to accept.
