Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, who is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said that the IDF will enter Rafah and take it over even if it costs Israel a deep rift in relations with the United States.
Minister Dermer, before leaving for the US, in an interview with the American journalist Dan Sinor: "Israel will act with confidence whether the countries reach an agreement or not.
This will happen even if Israel is forced to fight alone, even if the whole world turns its back on Israel, including the US. We intend to fight until we win the battle."
His words are considered to reflect the Prime Minister's position. In general, there is agreement in the government, including from the left side, to continue the war until its goals are achieved.
A political official added that the longer we wait the pressure will increase and the mission in Rafah must be completed as soon as possible.
