"Operation Shield and Arrow" focuses on Islamic Jihad but it is not alone. There are a number of other terrorist organizations operating in the Gaza Strip that participate in shooting at Israel, even though the weapons available to them are relatively limited.
One of these organizations is called the "National Resistance Battalions" - the military arm of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine. In the past he stated that he launched a Fajr rocket towards Ashkelon.
This organization was established in 2000 following the outbreak of the second intifada. The organization also has terrorist cells in Judea and Samaria and East Jerusalem.
The "National Resistance Brigades" is considered the fourth largest organization in the Gaza Strip and numbers several hundred fighters.
The founder of the branch, Ibrahim Abu Elba, was killed by the IDF in the Gaza Strip in 2008.
In one of the previous rounds, Israel also killed the commander of the organization's rocket launching unit in the Gaza Strip.
