Over 1,000 girls and teenagers participated in the ” Nabi (Prophet) Shu’ayb” march. The youth centers of the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience from 16 Druze communities in the Galilee participated in the traditional march and drew the Druze community flag symbol.
The march took place last Friday (April 11, 2025, 13th of Nissan) at the initiative of the youth center trainees of the Ministry of the Negev, Galilee and National Resilience in the Druze communities of Daliyat al-Karmel, Usfiya, Maghar, Rama, Sajur, Beit Jan, Hurfish, Peki’in, Kasra Samia, Yanuh-Jat, Abu Sinan, Julis and Yarka. The youth centers are operated by the Ma’aseh Center Association.
The campers, students in grades 7-12, walked 3 km from Kibbutz Lavi to the Prophet’s Tomb complex near the Arbel (West of Tiberias) – wrapped in community flags and singing traditional songs.
Since 2015, the march has become a tradition held every year in April, connecting the community’s youth with their heritage, tradition, and sense of belonging. After arriving at the tomb, various educational activities took place there, and at the end, the participants created the five-color symbol of the Druze flag on their bodies – a symbolic and moving gesture of unity, pride, and shared leadership.
