NEWSRAEL: We want to thank all the security men in charge for their handling of this volatile situation, for the saving of innocent lives and for the way they ended this threat.

The kidnapper, a man of Pakistani origin, burst into the Jewish Congregation Beth Israel and threatened the hostages: "If anyone tries to enter this building, I tell you, everyone will die." 

After 12 hours the police announced that the attacker was dead and that there were no more casualties.
