Explosions were reported Tuesday in the mountainous area surrounding Khorramabad in western Iran’s Lorestan Province.

Iranian state media confirmed that a target in the area had been attacked but did not identify the precise site, the force responsible or the extent of the damage.

Khorramabad is considered one of Iran’s most important strategic missile regions. The surrounding mountains contain underground facilities linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including the Imam Ali ballistic-missile base.
