Contrary to expectations, it seems that not everything is perfect in relations between Syria and Turkey.
According to reports, Syria has closed its airspace to Turkish civilian aircraft. This is why flights to Damascus by the Turkish low-cost airline AJET, which were scheduled to begin on April 21, have been canceled.
The reason for this unusual Syrian step is the condition that the authorities in Damascus set for Ankara that Syrian planes also be able to fly to Turkey. The Turks do not allow this and have therefore been "punished" by Syria.
It should be noted that Turkish Airlines operates flights to Syria but Syrian companies cannot fly to Turkey. According to the Turks, Syria will not be able to operate commercial flights to Turkey until it renews its fleet of aircraft.
