A new report warns that combined military losses on both sides could reach nearly two million by spring, marking the deadliest conflict involving a major power since World War II.
Russia has suffered the highest number of casualties of any major power in any conflict since World War II, according to a new report released on Tuesday.
The report warns that the total number of soldiers killed, wounded, or missing on both sides of the front in Russia’s war against Ukraine could approach two million by the spring. It notes that Russia’s losses are unprecedented for a major power in the post-World War II era.
The report was published by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), less than a month before the fourth anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
