The IDF is deepening its operational readiness through the establishment of Division 38, which will consolidate the training brigades into an organic fighting formation
The dynamic shifts in the regional threat landscape and the operational need for a readily available, high-quality force have led the IDF to undertake a significant organizational reform within its field formations.
This week, Division 38 was officially inaugurated at Camp Emmanuel in a ceremony attended by the IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. The new division is designated as the Ground Forces’ Training Division and is intended to serve as a decisive multi-theater force in times of emergency. Unlike the previous model, in which training units operated in a dispersed manner, the new structure establishes a permanent command framework under which the professional corps school brigades will fight.
An official IDF Spokesperson’s statement said the move constitutes a central pillar of the multi-year “Hoshen” plan, focused on strengthening military readiness and expanding maneuvering capabilities.
