IDF investigation states: Tomer and Dikla Arava, the late mother and son whose home Hamas broke into in Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7 - were apparently killed by fire from our forces
The two, Tomer Eliaz-Arava, the late, and his mother Dikla Arava, the late, were recorded while Hamas terrorists who raided Kibbutz Nahal Oz entered their home, snatched Dikla's cell phone, and played a live video on Facebook in which they filmed the terrified family members inside the house.
The video was broadcast live to the entire country, and is one of the famous videos filmed during the 7/10 attack in Nahal Oz.
During the video, the late Tomer son is seen walking around with the terrorists in nearby houses in the kibbutz, calling on neighbors to come out of their homes, at the terrorists' orders.
According to the IDF investigation, after about an hour and a half - Tomer the hero managed to escape from the terrorists and hide in the kibbutz. A few minutes later, an IDF force that was conducting heavy fighting in the kibbutz, recognized him as a suspicious figure - and shot him dead. The investigation indicates that Tomer Eliaz-Arava, the late, was probably the one killed by our forces' fire due to mistaken identity.
At the same time, the terrorists kidnapped and put Dikla Arava, the late, in vehicles, along with her partner Noam Elyakim, the late, and his two daughters, Ella and Dafna Elyakim (who were released in the kidnapping deal on November 23).
The IDF investigation indicates that during the vehicle's journey to Gaza, the vehicle was shot in the back by an IDF force - and Dikla was injured and killed in this shooting. After the shooting, the terrorists abandoned the vehicle in the kibbutz and left Dikla's body in it.
The investigation was presented to the Elyakim-Eliaz-Arava family in an unusual manner, even before the full investigation into the battle at Kibbutz Nahal Oz was presented.
