Local armed commander in Rafah claims Hamas’ grip is weakening as internal confrontations surface in southern Gaza.
A local militia commander in Rafah, Ghassan al-Duhayni, published footage on Friday showing a captured Hamas terrorist whom he claims to have personally arrested. According to al-Duhayni, the detainee is a field commander from the so-called “Rafah Brigade,” part of Hamas’ military wing.
In the video, al-Duhayni delivers an unusually blunt message aimed directly at Hamas, declaring: “The dogs of al-Qassam — your terror is finished. Attempts to destroy peace will not succeed.” His remarks suggest rising internal friction in Rafah and point to cracks in Hamas’ control on the ground.
