Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is reportedly operating from a secret location after being wounded in US-Israeli strikes during Operation Epic Fury.
According to reports, Khamenei went into hiding after the attack that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, and several family members. Iran’s ambassador to Cyprus previously confirmed that Mojtaba was injured in the strike, reportedly suffering wounds to his legs, hand and arm.
Iran’s supreme leader is reportedly hiding in a secret location with extremely limited communication to the outside world as fears grow within Tehran’s leadership following U.S. and Israeli military strikes, CBS News reported Sunday.
US intelligence assessments cited in recent reporting say Mojtaba Khamenei is still influencing Iran’s military strategy and negotiations with the US, even though he remains isolated and physically weakened. His condition and limited public presence have reportedly complicated efforts to finalize any deal with Washington.
