NEWSRAEL: We have been reporting in the last few days of a deepening crisis between Israel and Russia which not only has implications for the two nations, but for the war in Ukraine and for Iran.
Israel no longer always warns Russia in advance of attacks on Syrian territory, the Bloomberg news agency reports, against the background of increasing attacks against militias supported by Iran in Syria.
Since the start of the "Iron Swords" war at the beginning of last month, Israel has increased attacks against Iranian-backed militias in Syria that have approached the Israeli border. However, Israel no longer always warns Russia in advance about attacks on Syrian territory, the Bloomberg news agency reported today (Friday).
The change, reported by people familiar with the situation, along with the increased attacks, worsens the troubled relationship between Israel and Russia.
Moreover, there is a danger that Syria will emerge as a new front in Israel's war with Hamas, a danger that the United States and its regional allies are trying to avoid as they seek to resolve the conflict. Even so, tensions are already high on Israel's border with Lebanon, Hezbollah's base.
