Mossad Director David Barnea warns that Iran has not abandoned its goal of destroying Israel and says justice will reach terrorists and their handlers wherever they flee.
Speaking at a ceremony at the President’s Residence, Mossad chief David Barnea said Iran would move rapidly toward nuclear weapons as soon as circumstances allow, stressing that the drive to build a nuclear bomb “still beats in their hearts.”
Barnea said Iran has never abandoned its aspiration to eliminate the State of Israel and believes it can once again deceive the international community and push forward another dangerous nuclear agreement. “We did not allow, and will not allow, a bad deal to be implemented,” he said. According to Barnea, a regime that openly seeks Israel’s destruction, deceived the world while developing nuclear weapons, and enriched uranium to unjustifiable levels will inevitably break forward toward military nuclear capability when given the chance.
He emphasized that Israel bears responsibility to ensure Iran’s nuclear project — which he said has been severely damaged — is never reactivated, noting close cooperation with the Americans in this effort.
