The Quds Force, the elite unit of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, is struggling to rebuild after the recent 12-day war with Israel. Once admired in Iran for its role in exporting the Islamic Revolution, the force now faces growing criticism at home due to heavy losses.
A month ago, IDF reservists captured Syrian terrorists operating directly under Quds Force direction, 10 km inside Syria. Similar arrests had occurred earlier, with weapons seized from multiple cells.
Israeli intelligence confirms that Quds Force operatives with Iranian passports remain active in Lebanon, Yemen, and other arenas around Israel. Despite suffering major blows, the force continues to function in nearly all its traditional zones.
The Quds Force is central to Iran’s regional strategy of “exporting the revolution.” It oversees terrorist operations abroad, destabilizes regimes hostile to Tehran, and strengthens allies such as Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. Its thousands of members are spread across the Middle East, with suspected presence in Africa and Europe as well.
