Ben-Gurion University President Prof. Daniel Haimovich told journalist Roi Katz in a culture in Be'er Sheva that the cell operated across campus and threatened female students who dressed immodestly, for their perception. Afterwards, they sent the photos of the women to clans.
Ben-Gurion University President Prof. Daniel Haimovich revealed today (Saturday) that an Islamist cell operated on campus as chastity guards and threatened male and female students. There were three students in the cell. "We took care of it," he clarified. "We threatened them, they were scared."
"When we found out about the situation, we were horrified, Arabs and Jews together," he told journalist Roi Katz at a cultural event in Be'er Sheva.
According to Haimovich, the cell was discovered following complaints from female students. "It's a very socially complex situation because they can not complain in public," he explained. "We live in something very complex, but we handled it. We did not handle it the way we handle other things."
