The IDF confirmed that 13 Hamas terrorists were killed in an Israeli strike earlier this week on a Hamas training compound located inside the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
Among those eliminated was Jawad Sidaoui, a Hamas operative responsible for training terrorists to carry out attacks from Lebanese territory against IDF forces and the State of Israel.
Lebanon had committed to disarming armed factions inside Palestinian refugee camps, yet terrorist groups continue to exploit civilians and civilian infrastructure for their operations. Despite Hamas’ denials, the existence of this training facility exposes the organization’s growing efforts to entrench itself in Lebanon.
Prior to the strike, the IDF implemented measures to reduce the risk to civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.
