Turkey reassures its NATO allies: We no longer need the Russian S-400 systems

"We no longer need the Russian S-300 and S-400 air defense systems," said Assalsan CEO Haluk Gorgon, and added: "We produce air defense systems. We don't need the S-300 or the S-400."

The CEO of Aselsan, Haluk Gorgun, made a statement to the reporter of the newspaper "Milit", Abdullah Karkoosh, during a visit to the facilities of ASELSAN in Golbashi.

Karakosh stated that the air defense systems are mainly produced in its new 70,000 square meter facilities.

Gorgun also stated that the SİPER air defense system is not a single vehicle.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT: The issue of Turkey buying Russian systems was a big problem with their NATO allies. It seems that Turkey is backtracking this issue. Wether the Turkish systems are actually as good or better that the Russian S-400 remains to be seen.

Yes, Turkey has always been , slippery. I wouldn't trust anything they claim.

S-300 & 400 aren’t what they are all cracked up to be. Israel has been bombing Syria with all those systems in place and they haven’t shot anything down anything Israel throws their way.
