Uri was just 19 years old. She volunteered for Israel’s national service out of a deep sense of purpose, dedicating herself to helping at-risk youth and bringing light where it was most needed.
She was brutally raped and murdered in a terrorist attack by a man linked to Hamas, with a criminal past and previous prison sentences. Her murder was not a random act of violence — it was terrorism, plain and simple.
Tragic cases like this underscore why Israel must confront terror with clarity and strength. True deterrence — including the application of the death penalty for terrorists — is part of defending innocent lives. Terror must be defeated, not managed.
We will continue to remember Uri — a young woman who wanted to add light to the world and hope to young people.
