The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee praised President Joe Biden's administration for continuing to report those responsible for "indiscriminate violence" against protests in Iran.
The committee said that the administration must "respond with force" to the increasing pace of prosecutions and executions by the Iranian regime.
The Iranian judiciary announced that the Supreme Court accepted the appeal of two protesters who were sentenced to death due to errors in the investigations related to their cases.
Iran executed two protesters this month, Mohsen Shakari, 23, after he was accused of blocking a main road in September, and wounding a Basij soldier with a knife, and Majid Reza Rahnward, 23, who was accused of stabbing two Basij soldiers to death and was publicly hanged.
