Israel and Lebanon will begin in the coming days to identify the first areas in southern Lebanon where the historic agreement reached overnight, under US mediation, will be implemented.
These areas will be defined as pilot zones. Lebanese army forces will deploy there with the mission of preventing Hezbollah terrorists from retaking them.
At the same time, US-mediated talks will continue in Washington between Lebanese Ambassador Nada Mouwad and Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter.
Israel is well aware of the difficulties in implementing the agreement, and that Hezbollah, acting on behalf of Iran, will try to sabotage it. But one of the goals is to sharpen the message inside Lebanon and to the international community: while the states seek peace, Iran, through Hezbollah, is violating it.
