Officials in the Trump administration are increasingly worried about the ability to implement the Gaza ceasefire agreement, Politico reported Tuesday, citing leaked internal documents from American security discussions.
According to the report, the administration lacks “a clear plan for moving from the ceasefire phase to a stage of stable peace and reconstruction in Gaza.”
The 67-slide presentation, divided into six sections, was shown last month during a two-day conference held by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and the newly established Civil-Military Coordination Headquarters in Kiryat Gat — part of the agreement’s framework. About 400 participants attended, including representatives from the State Department, the Pentagon, NGOs, private companies, and think tanks.
One of the main issues raised was the feasibility of forming the International Stabilization Force (ISF), a multinational security initiative designed to maintain calm in Gaza following the IDF’s withdrawal as the agreement progresses.
