Eyewitnesses say pro-government forces executed Druze civilians in Sweida as brutal clashes in southern Syria entered their third day. Fighters linked to the Syrian regime allegedly carried out mass killings and abuses, targeting the Druze-majority population.
The violence began Sunday when battles broke out between Druze militias and Bedouin tribes. Hundreds have been killed or injured, prompting Damascus to deploy security forces across the region. Despite a pledge by the Syrian Defense Ministry to de-escalate, witnesses reported ongoing violence, looting, and executions on Tuesday.
One witness recounted how nine civilians were shot dead after pro-regime fighters stormed the Radwan guesthouse. An unverified video circulating online showed bloodied bodies inside the building.
In northern Sweida’s Al-Basha neighborhood, three Kardab family members were executed in front of their mother. “I heard her scream, then a burst of gunfire. When I came out, I saw the bodies on the ground,” said a witness.
