WATCH: Lebanese government minister calls on Lebanon to accept Israel and embrace peace
Lebanese Industry Minister Joe El-Khoury stated in an April 15 interview that Lebanon must recognize Israel’s existence and move away from a long-standing culture of war toward a culture of peace. He emphasized that such a shift is essential for Lebanon’s future stability and prosperity.
El-Khoury added that the Lebanese public would welcome peace, but only if Hezbollah surrenders its weapons and allows the Lebanese state to assert full control.
He rejected claims that Israel seeks to expand into Lebanon, dismissing the “Greater Israel” narrative as false and arguing that it is used to justify keeping weapons outside state authority.
