Tensions rise in Beirut ahead of government meeting

Lebanese media reported increased security measures across Beirut this morning as the government prepares to meet amid fears of potential clashes. Officials warned of the risk of a "spark of conflict" erupting during the high-stakes session.

According to reports, the Lebanese army deployed extensively in several areas of the capital, including Ras al-Nabaa, Beshara al-Khoury, and Al-Tayouneh.

The heavy military presence highlights the growing concerns over political instability in the country.

The government will be discussing the disarmament of the Hezbollah. Shiite supporters have been rallying in the streets since last night.
