The Israeli attack, and especially the stunning opening strike against Iran, is raising concerns among the Turkish public that Turkey will be Israel's next target in the future, an Arab news website reports.
The camp surrounding President Erdogan is fueling this sense of fear. Devlet Bahçeli, head of the Nationalist Party, warned on Tuesday that the attack on Iran is part of an Israeli plan to encircle Turkey.
"Israel's political and strategic goal is clear," he said. "To encircle Anatolia and sabotage Turkey's path to a future free of terror."
Officials in Ankara told the website that Turkey "needs to study this attack in depth and take relevant steps to prepare itself for any possible risks and options in the future."
