U.S. President Donald Trump commented today on the stalled ceasefire and hostage deal negotiations between Israel and Hamas, following Hamas's latest response and Israel’s decision to recall its delegation from Doha for consultations.
“Hamas never really wanted a deal. They want to die, and that’s very bad,” Trump said. “We’ve reached the point where the job must be finished. We’ve already freed many hostages and were close to freeing the last ones. Hamas knows what happens after we get the remaining hostages.
They backed out of the talks. The Israelis will have to fight and end this.”
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement in English: “Special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, was right. Hamas is the obstacle to a hostage release deal.
