Prominent legal scholar Alan Dershowitz argues that lasting peace in the Middle East is impossible without regime change in Iran, calling Tehran’s current leadership the single greatest source of regional instability.
Dershowitz contrasted what he described as growing diplomatic distance between Israel and much of the international community with the approach of President Donald Trump, whom he praised for sending a clear and forceful message to Iran.
He said Trump’s posture has strengthened deterrence by warning Tehran against advancing nuclear weapons or missile systems capable of striking Israeli cities.
According to Dershowitz, Israel does not require direct US military participation to act against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. What Jerusalem needs, he said, is political backing. “All Israel needs is a green light from Donald Trump to go in on its own and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities,” he stated, adding that credible consequences are essential to stopping Iran’s ambitions.
