Border Police operated widely throughout the country, including along the seam with the territories of Judea and Samaria, as part of what the police called a large-scale operational effort, and arrested approximately 460 illegal residents from the Palestinian areas.
Of these, 48 illegal residents and 33 additional suspects were arrested in the Jerusalem sector and surrounding areas. In the south of the country, 86 illegal residents and ten additional suspects were arrested. In the northern, coastal, central sectors, and the area along the seam route with the territories of Judea and Samaria, 124 illegal residents and 17 additional suspects were apprehended.
The effort focused on locating, arresting, and preventing the entry of illegal residents, while simultaneously taking actions to thwart the chain of assistance to them, which includes smugglers, transporters, and employers operating in violation of the law.
