In recent days, three new militias have announced their formation, claiming that they are intended to "defend Iraq," but have also issued statements of support for the Houthis in Yemen in light of the ongoing American offensive. It's hard to mistake the names - these are Shiite militias.
Sources in Iraq estimate that this is yet another Iranian initiative intended to return and attack American bases from Iraqi soil in the first stage, and it is possible that an attempt will be made in the next stage to attack Israel.
As a reminder, the recognized Iraqi militias ceased attacks against the United States and Israel in December under pressure from the Iraqi government. It is not clear whether the new organizations that have declared themselves are actually a cover for existing, recognized militias that will operate under a different name or whether these are indeed new frameworks.
In any case, it seems that Iran, despite the blows it is suffering, does not intend to neglect the struggle against the US and Israel, but as usual, it prefers to do so indirectly and from Iraqi territory.
