At this stage, there has been no official confirmation from Emirati authorities. In the past, Gulf states—including the UAE—have taken security-related measures involving foreign nationals, particularly in periods of regional tension with Iran. 

Pakistan, a Pakistan Sunni-majority country with a significant Shiite minority, has a large expatriate workforce across the Gulf. Any move affecting thousands of Pakistani nationals could have diplomatic and economic implications.
