Around 14 rockets fired from Lebanon struck residential areas in the predominantly Christian town of Ain Ebel in the Bint Jbeil District on Monday, lightly injuring a woman and causing extensive property damage.
The rockets entered the town from the north, crossed the surrounding hills and landed among civilian homes. Local accounts said the trajectory indicated that the barrage originated from the direction of Srifa, an area associated with Hezbollah activity.
The pattern of impacts raised suspicions among residents that Ain Ebel may have been deliberately targeted rather than struck accidentally. Two homes and several vehicles were reportedly badly damaged, while additional buildings suffered varying levels of destruction.
Ain Ebel Mayor Ayoub Khreish said the injured woman received treatment and was recovering. He described the humanitarian conditions in the town as “tragic,” warning that residents were running out of essential supplies.
