A senior official in the US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, called the human death toll of North Korean soldiers in the war in Ukraine “heavy”, including “several hundred” killed and wounded.
This senior Pentagon official, who was not named, told several Western media outlets that the North Korean forces sent to Russia appear to have no experience in ground combat and have suffered heavy casualties.
According to a Pentagon official, the casualties of the North Korean forces include soldiers “recently recruited up to the highest echelons of command.”
The President of Ukraine also Zelenskyy two days ago released a video showing Russian forces apparently “burning the faces of dead North Korean soldiers” in the Kursk region to hide evidence of their presence on the battlefield.
