NEWSRAEL: Relations are tense and getting worse between Iran (Shiite) and the Taliban (Sunni) which share a long border which has seen a number of clashes in the last months.
The President of Iran, Raisi arrived last Thursday for a visit to the border area between Afghanistan and Iran in the province of Balochistan and Sistan.
During the visit, Raisi issued a threat to the Taliban regime and demanded that they open the dam and allow the water of the Helmand River to flow from Afghanistan to Iran, so that the residents of the Iranian region could survive. Raisi warned the Taliban that his words should be taken seriously and hinted at possible military action.
In response to the threat, General Mobin, former spokesman for the Kabul Police in the Taliban, posed for a photo with a jerry can which he filled with water and placed on the ground saying: "Raisi, here is your water quota. We give it to you because we are afraid of you and don't want you to attack..."
Looks like the guys in the Taliban are not really afraid of the Iranians...
