With the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, a new UN report is published that clarifies why the Middle East will continue to be a focus of instability in the years to come.
According to the report, 1 out of every 3 residents in the Arab countries lives below the poverty line. In numbers, there are about 130 million people. UN experts predict that this year the figure will rise to about 36%.
This data ensures that many countries in the region will continue to suffer from internal social unrest and an increase in dangerous phenomena related to crime, extremism and terrorism.
Those who can help are the rich Gulf countries whose year 2022 was one of their most successful financially thanks to the rise in oil and gas prices. However, it seems that they would prefer to direct their budget surplus to them instead of directing it to backward and corrupt Arab countries.
