US forces reportedly destroyed two Iranian coastal radar sites after intercepting four attack drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CENTCOM information cited by Nziv, the Iranian drones were intended to threaten maritime traffic in the strategic waterway. After shooting them down, US forces struck radar installations near Goruk and on Qeshm Island.
The radar systems were reportedly used to monitor ships, detect aerial and maritime targets, guide drones and anti-ship missiles, and provide the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps with a detailed intelligence picture of activity in the strait.
Qeshm Island is one of Iran’s most important strategic positions in the region. Its location allows Iranian forces to monitor a large portion of the shipping entering and leaving the Persian Gulf.
