Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Israel Police are in the midst of an enforcement operation to eradicate “dangerous toys” ahead of the upcoming Purim and the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
To that end, authorities have already confiscated about 160 firearm-like pistols, airsoft guns, prohibited laser pointers, smoke grenades and hundreds of explosives of different types.
All of the above items are not only dangerous to children, but can also be used by terrorists.
As part of the operation, inspectors have so far checked about 200 businesses in Arab and Jewish communities all over the country, including in Haifa, Karmiel, Tayba, Abu Gush, Netivot, Rosh Pina, Tuba-Zangariyye, Rishon Lezion, Rahat and more.
