ARAB VOICES - VIDEO: GAZA DEAL: A funeral for a bygone era

The Lebanese-Shiite journalist and political commentator and CEO of Sky News Arabia, Nadim Koteich, states that the agreement in Gaza is not just a defeat for Hamas.

It is also a crushing defeat for the entire Axis of Resistance, for the narrative of struggle rooted in Islamic religious extremism, which Iran has woven for itself and for each of its proxy organizations.

Not only did Hamas sign a ceasefire agreement without achieving a single one of the goals it hoped to accomplish by going to war, but Israel fulfilled all its objectives from the war and remains in control of 53% of the Gaza Strip. If we compare the course and results of the war in Gaza to a game of backgammon, Israel defeated Hamas in a crushing defeat. 

It achieved all its desires, prevented Hamas from scoring even one achievement, and "removed from the board" most of its soldiers or the tools at its disposal.
