A new report by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) raises serious concerns about the conduct of US Ambassador Tom Barrack in Ankara.
According to the findings, Barrack allegedly compared Israel to Hezbollah, calling both “untrustworthy,” while also downplaying Turkey’s support for Hamas.
The report further claims that Barrack backed giving Turkey a role in post-war Gaza governance despite its Hamas ties, remained silent on alleged Turkish financial links to Iran and Hezbollah, and has been actively pushing for Turkey’s return to the F-35 Lightning II program.
This comes as President Erdoğan continues to openly support Hamas and strengthen alignment with Iran—raising broader questions about US strategy in the region.
