Reports emerging from Iraqi social media indicate that senior commanders of the pro-Iranian militias operating in Iraq have gone into hiding amid escalating regional tensions.

According to these reports, “all commanders of the Iranian militias in Iraq are terrified and hiding in tunnels. They threw away all their phones — even Chinese Huawei and Xiaomi models — and abandoned all their American vehicles.”

Among the figures mentioned are Hadi al-Amiri, Qais al-Khazali, Abu Alaa al-Walai, Akram al-Kaabi, Faleh al-Fayyad, Abdul Aziz al-Mohammadawi (Abu Fadak), and Abu Ali al-Mousawi.
