U.S. sets conditions to recognize the new regime in Syria

The visas of the delegation members were changed from G1 to G3, reflecting the lack of recognition of the current Syrian transitional government.

The United States changed the classification of the Syrian mission to the United Nations in Notice No. 41-2025 from "permanent mission of a member state" to "mission of a government not recognized by the United States."

The Trump administration is setting tough conditions for recognizing the new Syrian regime:

- Accepting the resettlement of one million Palestinian refugees in Syria.
